Allow Me to Introduce Myself

Eboneika "Ebbie" Henderson (she/her/hers) is the visionary force behind Progress Over Perfection BHS Therapy (and lover of the color purple). Holding a license in South Carolina and servicing Florida as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Ebbie's pivot journey began at Northwestern University, where she earned her MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Her background in Behavioral Science (encompassing psychology, anthropology, and sociology) initially led her to advocate for marginalized communities, including those with disabilities.

As a mental health counselor, Ebbie's passion lies in empowering clients to reach their fullest potential. Her approach is deeply personalized, with an emphasis on co-creating treatment plans and goals with each client, nurturing a strong therapeutic alliance throughout the process. Ebbie's approach has yielded remarkable results, with clients not only achieving their objectives but also fostering a profound investment in their own growth.

Beyond her academic achievements, Ebbie is a National Certified Counselor (NCC), a Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional (CIMHP), a SYMBIS counselor, and has undergone extensive training in Gottman Couples Counseling (levels I & II). Her skill set also includes certifications in Conflict Resolution and First Aid Counseling, alongside a wealth of experience working with diverse clientele.

In addition to working with her clients, Ebbie partners with The Loveland Foundation, Girl Get Up! Society, Black Girls Smile, and other non-profit organizations to provide therapy at a reduced-cost to under-served demographics.

When she's not guiding individuals on their paths to self-improvement, Ebbie unwinds by indulging in action/adventure films, vibing to neo-soul music, cherishing moments with friends and family, exploring new destinations through travel, and, whenever the opportunity arises, indulging in well-deserved naps.
